I have 26 years of experience in management, event planning and customer service. In high school I began a career as an emcee in the dj entertainment industry. During that time I learned the ability to command a room, speak in public and develop working relationships with the event spaces to ensure the excellence of each event. In 2003, I went on to partner in the opening of Five Star DJ Entertainment. As an owner, I learned sales, customer service, event planning, networking, brand recognition, team building and many other skills that would translate later to my current career. Simultaneously with my emcee career I began working with adults with developmental disabilities. I began as a direct care worker then worked my way into management. For over 25 years I worked at HeartShare Human Services of New York and the Guild for Exceptional Children. This career taught me many life changing lessons as well as sharpened my management/ professional skills. My career offered many highlights such as opening programs, planning once in a lifetime vacations, mentoring a disabled DJ and dignified end of life care.In 2021, I decided to utilize the skills I learned in my professional life and apply them into restaurant and banquet manager at Mama Rao's Restaurant. Working closely with the owner and professional staff we have brought Mama Rao's back to pre-covid numbers while expanding the business model to include online orders and outdoor service. We regularly host multiple events and provide upscale family dining.
