Subsidiary of home furnishings group IKEA, primarily linking suppliers to IKEA with suppliers of raw materials needed for production of IKEA articles, acting as a contractual party for purchase and sale of the commodities, arranging freight and handling all other aspects normally associated with a commodity trading company. Key contribution to strategic goal of reduction of article cost whilst maintaining quality and high level of goods availability in the IKEA store. Employing 60 staff. Turnover US$ 250million.

Full-time consultancy work performed for owners of the Russian naphtha cracker Stavropolpolymer. Acted in the role of Chief Financial Officer for associated company Croil Trade AG, Zug, Switzerland, handling the traffic and bank relations for the export business of plastics and petrochemicals (mainly to China, Turkey and Western Europe) as well as the running of the two Russian operating companies involved in the cracker operations. Extensive finance activity was involved, with both Western and Russian banks, for trade finance as well as working capital for the cracker.During 1997-8, was one of two principal negotiators concluding the sale of the Russian cracker to a Western chemical trading company. Also involved in setting up new business venture in Brazil in the field of pharmaceuticals for another client.
