I am a professional currently working in the Building & Facilities area, solely focusing on heritage buildings. Through my current role as Building & Facilities Officer I have gained a thorough knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services working within the Building Management team at Sydney Living Museums. I have a deep understanding of the relationship between all mechanical and electrical systems.My communication skills are highly developed and enable me to effectively build positive working relationships. I am confident in putting forward my own ideas, and willing to listen and respect the perspectives, values and knowledge others bring to the workplace.My written skills have developed during my academic studies and more recently in the workplace. In the workplace, I have used these skills communicating via email with colleges to convey information clearly and concisely. I’m aware of working within a multi-disciplined team in the museum environment, and how different goals are sought throughout the organisation, and the needs and goals of these teams. I have knowledge in how to use the tools provided in Outlook to fully integrate my working life with the program. I have a good understanding of Microsoft Excel and using spread sheets. I also have many industry relevant computer skills s including BMS, Challenger, Titan security and Cardax. Using these systems I’m able to monitor climate conditions across the building, check for security breaches, install wireless security devices and react to faults, issue new swipe cards and allocate their access level. My skills and professional nature towards the care and protection of heritage buildings has seen me rewarded with numerous Acting Building Facilities Officer positions across many building types, including the UNESCO World Heritage listed Hyde Park Barracks.
