Director Of Engineering
Current• Lead engineering / groups, design, manage and be responsible for developing new project-specific designs, as well as existing projects.• Manage the design schedules of all contracts / projects during engineering stages.• Ensure any new engineering designs required to meet project specific requirements are completed on time.• Identify engineering design required to meet project specific requirements.• Provide support and ensure appropriate resources are assigned to the following functional teams, controls hardware, software, mechanical engineering, R&D, Technical Managers and Engineering Liaison to all customers.• Lead process improvement initiatives related to the development and release of new projects. • Continually push to improve our level of quality in all the active areas that can be used in projects. • Ensure the best design practices are properly used by the mechanical designers on their deliverables.• Conduct mechanical Quality Checks, and lead initiatives for continuous quality improvement.• Address all issues. Develop strategies to avoid recurrence of these.• Lead Assist in equipment concepts.• On time delivery of engineering releases.• Managing a team of controls and mechanical engineers, designers and drafters.• Work in a manufacturing environment for highly customized and engineered equipment.• Analyze customer’s technical specifications regarding the application of power distribution equipment and apply appropriate product solutions to meet the customer’s expectations in cost-effective and timely manner.• Manage engineering using variety of system software i.e. 3D CAD Parametric packages (Solidworks), preference given to work in NX Unigraphics, E-Plan Alan Bradley Siemens PLC /HMI other as required.• Multitask and manage large workloads and business demands.• Embrace a culture of quality and continuous improvement.• Manage contract financials• Estimate create proposals for customer new project requests.
