Following two seasons of Hugh's 3 Hungry Boys, I set up my own project, 7th Rise, with a view to realising my dream. And I've done it. Today 7th Rise is a reality and it's an incredible project and one I hope to share with many.7th Rise encapsulates everything that I'm about - fishing, foraging, bush craft, nature and encouraging positive change in people. At the cottage, based at a secret and secluded location in Cornwall, my team and I teach guests the forgotten yet innate skills needed to live an authentic and natural lifestyle out in the wild. We teach guests how to prepare wild meats for the table, to cool using old and forgotten techniques, to fish, to canoe, to shoot and to live life in a much simpler way.At the cottage we don't just offer adventure activities. We are completely unique as we offer a digital detox - no mobile or electronic devices are allowed nor needed and our guests love it! Everyone talks to one another, no one turns to Google but instead flick through the deep archives of their mind and they find it to be a very refreshing experience.Authentic living and a digital detox combined with freedom, space and time have resulted in fantastic positive social change in people which is why I'm so passionate about this project. Re connecting people with nature is so very important and so very beneficial. I've seen major life decisions being made before my eyes, songs written, ideas take form. 7th Rise is unique.
