I currently work as a Detective Sergeant within the Peterborough Criminal Investigation Department. This is an extremely busy and demanding role. I have been in post since November 2021. Its is a role I enjoy very much and find very rewarding.Within this role I deal with the victims and manage their needs and make sure that they are safeguarded and offer security advice and reassurance. The work is varied, from proactive work, covert work and overt work. The investigations are of differing levels from stand alone investigations to dealing with emerging series and conspiracy's. I have to manage my workload and deal with the expectations of the victims. This can be demanding at times with the time constraints that I have and the other operational commitments that have to be fulfilled.I am also mentor for officers that are looking to take the step into CID. This is something that I am very passionate about and enjoy seeing officers that come into the department flourish and gain confidence. I look to offer them advice in areas that they lack experience. It’s a very fulfilling role. I have been within Criminal Investigation Department for the majority of my career in a number of differing roles. I have been a Field Intelligence Officer dealing with complex drug operations, to dealing with nominals that fall within the integrated offender management system.Before joining the constabulary i worked within a family sports shop business. Initially as a shop assistant dealing with the demands of customers from purchasing to returns. I then managed two shops dealing with the ordering and management of stock.Between September 2007 and November 2010 I purchased my own sports shop and ran that successfully for 3 years until the economic climate forced me to close the business.
