Assistant Psychologist
CurrentIn my role as an Assistant Psychologist within the Stroke Rehabilitation team, I work across both an inpatient unit and a community service to provide psychological support for individuals recovering from stroke. I conduct psychological assessments, offer evidence-based interventions, and contribute to multidisciplinary care planning to address the cognitive, emotional, and behavioural aspects of stroke recovery.Key responsibilities include: • Offering consultation to staff and other healthcare professionals to enhance patient care and recovery outcomes. • Delivering tailored psychological interventions to support the mental wellbeing of stroke survivors, improving quality of life and recovery. • Conducting assessments and contributing to individual care plans for stroke rehabilitation. • Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to provide holistic, patient-centred care. • Supporting the development of psychological strategies within the team and engaging in ongoing professional development.This role allows me to apply my expertise in psychological care within the context of a healthcare setting, while working towards becoming a Clinical Psychologist.
