I am currently a senior research and development engineer in the Structural Mechanics Laboratory at Sandia National Laboratories. My work focuses on the mechanics of materials, material performance, material characterizations and microstructure, qualification of parts and materials, and development of computational models. I work not only to understand how materials behave but how this knowledge can be leveraged to improve existing products or develop new manufacturing methods. My current projects include:- Evaluating process-structure-property relationships of additively manufactured metals- Mechanical performance of composite materials testing - Micro-mechanics of micron scale composite fibers- Digital image correlation- Advanced characterization techniques (in-situ testing, computed tomography)
