Over the last few years my focus has moved from support activities more towards development tasks as I have taken on additional tasks that have allowed me to learn new skills in JavaScript and Angular development and put those to use to help the company.In addition to this I was among the first to nominate myself to get involved with cloud computing taking on the challenge to get certified in the use of AWS. Since then I have achieved the Cloud Practitioner and Cloud Architect Associate certificates and am currently working through the Security Specialy for AWS course.In addition to the AWS certificates I've developed two applications for the cloud, one of which was built to take full advantage of the serverless services available on the platform.

Continuation of my employement with Life Technologies taking on further responsibilities and working to build additional knowledge in the region on systems which lack support.During my time I have taken on the role of regional lead in support of a number of systems including:Captiva; An OCR system used by our accounts payable team. I primarily act as first line support for this system. Troubleshooting issues for users and resolving the majority, before having to call colleagues in the US.Create!Form; a system used to manage formatting and printing of E1 PDFs including dispatch notes, pick slips and invoices. I develop for this system, including rebuilding the routing logic for all printing as part of a major ERP upgrade and making design changes to documents such as Purchase Orders and Invoices.Finite Scheduling Tool: I act as a business analyst in this position as the tool is supported by a 3rd party team. My role is to communicate regularly with the users of the tool to gather requirements relating to bugs and to enhancements and to communicate the to the developers. We also work together to set prioritisation for these requests and to manage user expectations and the implementation and cut over of any changes developed.

12 month placement as an Intern in IT working with the Regional Systems team assisting users of critical systems and working on projects such as creating an internal wiki site for IT in the EMEA region and replacing computer systems in manufacturing for the introduction of new automated control software.

Last year I undertook a third year "Placement Project" module in which I was required to take on a project from a client which required me to design and implement an upgrade to the clients database including normalization and the introduction of a number of queries.In addition to the design work I produced a report explaining the work which I had done on the database and detailing any aspects of the database upgrade which the client had suggested would be desirable but that I was unable to implement.In second year I worked hard to achieve good passes in all modules and returned a number of pieces of work which I am proud of, including reports in Business Networks & Business Systems Provision and design work for Web Development and Database Design.
