These roles and responsibilities took place during hot-climate training in Arizona, cold climate training in Canada, various exercises across the UK, and an operational tour in Afghanistan.Working on operational aircraft provided first line knowledge of, not exclusively; engines, gearboxes, high pressure fluids, accumulators, and rotary, fuel, and air conditioning systems. The skills learned by ‘fixing’ these systems provided a fundamental engineering background and foundation to achieve academically.Aside from gaining a working knowledge of in-service aircraft, the Army developed my leadership and managerial skills giving me the ability and confidence to control demanding situations and to drive the direction of a team. Similarly whilst serving for HM Forces, I improved my communication skills; working with various work sectors, comprising of many different nationalities, towards a common goal.
