• Worked in RLAM’s centralised ESG team, on both fixed income and equity funds. Key duties included:- Proxy voting for RLAM’s active and passive equity holdings, along with broader corporate governance engagement with UK listed companies, including meetings with board directors;- Working with fund managers to integrate ESG factors into investment decision-making across equities, investment grade and high yield fixed income assets;- Analysing and writing research notes on companies and securities for individual equity and fixed income assets, including ESG factors, controversy exposures and in-depth analysis on specific risks and opportunities;- Thematic research on utilities, real estate, rolling stock, tobacco, banks and mining companies;- Developing fixed income-specific ESG analysis tools including credit-focused carbon footprints;- Engaging with and meeting companies on a range of environmental, social and governance topics and leading meetings with senior management, subject matter experts and non-executive directors.

• Joined the media team at Royal London Group in the summer of 2015, promoted to a Press Officer in February 2016, working with a senior colleague on media relations for Royal London Asset Management:- Working on national and broadcast corporate governance stories;- Drafting and finalising investment/market commentary on behalf of portfolio managers across fixed income, equities and multi asset management, including publication in national newspapers;- Day to day PR work for the asset management business and on Royal London group financial results;- Proactive pitching of exclusive stories and RLAM interview opportunities to relevant journalists.
