About Thomas Josef Dauser

Thomas J. Dauser leitet seit Juni 2021 die damals neu geschaffene Direktion Innovationsmanagement und Digitale Transformation im Südwestrundfunk (SWR). Hier baute er u.a. neue Teams für Veränderungsmanagement, Analytics, Suchmaschinenoptimierung, Community Management sowie das SWR X Lab, das Innovationslabor des SWR, auf. Im SWR X Lab entstehen seitdem insbesondere für junge Menschen neue digitale Produkte und Services, die den öffentlich-rechtlichen Auftrag in die digitale Zukunft tragen. Thomas Dauser verantwortet im SWR strategische Projekte zu Künstlicher Intelligenz (KI), Gaming, Virtueller Realität, Personalisierung, Dialog und Daten. Thomas Dauser studierte in Tübingen Allgemeine Rhetorik und Politikwissenschaft und arbeitete parallel als Reporter und Moderator im Tübinger SWF/SWR Studio. Ab 2004 war er beim SWR in Mainz zunächst Autor für das Politikmagazin „Zur Sache Rheinland-Pfalz“ im SWR Fernsehen, ab 2006 dann für „Report Mainz“ im Ersten. Für seine investigativen Recherchen wurde er u.a. mit dem Medienpreis der Kindernothilfe ausgezeichnet. In der Chefredaktion verantwortete er außerdem Sondersendungen unter anderem zu Bundes- und Landtagswahlen und war an der Entwicklung neuer TV-Formate beteiligt. 2012 wurde Thomas Dauser Leiter der Intendanz des SWR, 2016 zusätzlich Strategiechef und begleitete bereits in diesen Funktionen den multimedialen Umbau im SWR.
