I lead a team of student employees to accomplish the communication goals of the Office of Research. That involves standard management responsibilities such as individual and group trainings and coordination of schedules and assignments, while also directly overseeing many of the recurring events put on by the office. Those events include the annual Student Research Symposium, where 300+ student researchers at Utah State share their research findings over two days. I also manage much of the communications and logistics of the USU Research Landscapes and Blue Plate Research event series, which create collaboration opportunities for USU researchers and community leaders along the Wasatch Front.

I work in the dean's office in the college as an assistant public relations writer. I regularly produce content about activities and important advances in the college, including spotlighting professors and researchers. As part of my responsibilities I also manage the Facebook page for the college, photograph events, attend relevant meetings, edit stories and produce other behind-the-scenes written content, including brochures and pamphlets.

I oversee the day-to-day work of producing content in the modern media environment. My responsibilities include production of the weekly print issue and the weekly email newsletter, regular planning and coordination meetings with the rest of the staff, website editing and publication, social media management (primarily Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat), and regular conversations with the sales and marketing staff.Prior to my position as the managing editor, I worked on the sports team as the senior sports writer. I wrote more than 60 pieces of content that were published in print and online in my year in that position and was named the sports writer of the year for the organization.
