I am a senior risk account engineer with almost ten years of engineering experience. My background is in civil engineering, and my career has focused primarily on risk engineering, energy infrastructure design, and industrial wastewater treatment design. I am a licensed engineer in Pennsylvania and New York, and my education background includes a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University, with minors in Environmental Engineering and in Watersheds and Water Resources. Prior to joining PERse, I managed design projects as a lead project engineer, supporting clients in various industries, such as power, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, and chemical production. The focus of these projects ranged from energy infrastructure installation and maintenance to industrial water/wastewater treatment system installations and upgrades.As a senior risk account engineer at PERse, I assess the potential perils that wind, solar, and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects may face during construction and operations. I support the PERse Risk Engineering team in addressing challenges facing the renewable power industry such as natural catastrophes, best management practices, emerging technology issues, unfavorable soil conditions, and engineering and procurement contractor expertise. My understanding of geotechnical design has furthered PERse’s initiative to advise insureds on the risks associated with the growing number of repower projects and installations in challenging site conditions, such as liquefaction-prone soils, areas of non-engineered fill and underground mines, and karstic features. At PERse, I have led evaluations of wind turbine generator foundations, solar foundations, and BESS foundations. As part of PERse’s dedication to being on the forefront of a constantly evolving industry, I have attended various clean power conferences and will continue to expand my knowledgebase of renewable power technologies through continued education and participation in renewable industry events.
