Practice focuses on helping lenders, financial technology companies, and other financial services providers with financial services laws and regulations, including the Dodd-Frank Act, the Truth in Lending Act (Regulation Z), the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (Regulation C), the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (Regulation B), and the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (Regulation X).

Office of Regulations, Division of Research, Markets & RegulationWorked on the development, drafting, and implementation of proposed and final rules related to consumer financial protection laws, including rules issued to implement several Dodd-Frank Act amendments: - Reporting Requirements Under HMDA, Final Rule (October 2015) - Reporting Requirements Under HMDA, Proposed Rule (August 2014) - Ability-to-Repay and Qualified Mortgage Standards Proposed Rule (January 2013) and Final Rule (June 2013), related to certain exemptions and amendments. - Ability-to-Repay and Qualified Mortgage Standards Under TILA, Final Rule (January 2013) - Integrated Mortgage Disclosures Under RESPA and TILA, Proposed Rule (August 2012) Provided guidance on legal and policy issues under TILA, RESPA, and HMDA to CFPB personnel and other federal agencies. Assisted industry stakeholders with questions related to Regulation Z, Regulation X, Regulation C, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and the CFPB's Title XIV Dodd-Frank final rules. Played a leading role in the creation and development of the CFPB's eRegulations project.

Worked on development and design of disclosure forms, as well as policy development for the requirements related to the disclosure forms. Also served on regulatory guidance teams for the Electronic Fund Transfer Act, the Truth in Lending Act, and the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act.

Responsibilities included researching, monitoring, analyzing, and developing compliance procedures for state and federal statutes, regulations, and case law related to consumer financial protection, including the Truth in Lending Act and Regulation Z, the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act and Regulation X, the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act and Regulation C, the Community Reinvestment Act, the National Bank Act and regulations promulgated by the OCC and OTS, and state and local "high cost" laws and ordinances.
