We are implementing innovative risk transfer and financing solutions with the public sector to close the protection gap in emerging markets.Catastrophes are increasing in frequency and severity widening the gap between economic and insured losses. Involving central and local governments authorities and agencies, multilateral government organizations, development banks, NGOs and other partners, we aim at increasing the penetration of insurance to provide for more state budget protection against catastrophique events. We offer a variety of risk transfer and financing strategies ranging from macro-level solutions to individual countries, pool schemes that bring together those facing a similar risk, sub-national solutions to provinces and cities, as well as schemes to make insurance directly available to individuals.

Joining Swiss Re Zurich in 1994 as a Credit & Surety Underwriter, I, since then, assumed various responsibilities in different locations around the world. From 1998 to 2002, I was based in Japan where I was actively involved in the development of domestic commercial credit re-insurance market.In 2005, I moved to New York for more than three years and was amongst others in-charge of the development of a credit portfolio capital modelling tool. Thereafter, I operated out of Zurich and Hong Kong in turns as Head of Marketing and Underwriting responsible for Europe, South Africa, Asia Pacific and Latin America.
