In 2016 I realised my special position as a survivor of the Hungarian Holocaust. I joined a panel of speakers at the Holocaust Educational Trust (HET) of London, whose main task is to go to schools and speak of their personal experiences to 13-16 year old students. These testimonies not only keep this important topic alive, but also educate them (and hopefully their parents too) about the possible consequences of ethnic and religious hatred, such as that which manifested itself against Muslims (Myanmar), Catholics (Armenia) Uyghurs (China) and others. I have since spoken to more than 22,000 people (including at adult institutions), and am always looking for further opportunities. I received the British Empire Medal (BEM) for services to Holocaust Education.
