Near the end of my time with Renaissance Learning, I was blessed with both the birth of my daughter and a part-time remote contract with CarePool LLC out of Madison, Wisconsin as a web developer. I would spend nights and weekends between familial responsibilities completing tasks assigned to me by the CarePool team. The tasks I was assigned pushed me to continue to grow my skills using Angular 2 while also exposing me to backend development using NodeJS, Docker, and cloud-based infrastructure using AWS.Throughout my 7 months with the CarePool team, I developed core end-to-end features needed to meet the MVP for the product including an employee scheduler and data reporting toolset. My proficiency with AngularJS and JQuery landed me a job at Renaissance Learning as a technical support representative. The flagship product for Renaissance at the time was an AngularJS web application. I used my experience with AngularJS to more thoroughly collect information about runtime issues and report them back to the development team. With Renaissance, I had the opportunity to work with the database team on a few large projects and was exposed to writing SQL queries and using scripting languages like Bash and Powershell to complete system-level tasks. On my own, I continued to explore web application development by developing a small todo list application using the Angular 2 framework. As part of that exploration, I began looking into the intricacies of how websites are served over the internet and ultimately configured a Google Firebase instance to serve my application.

Over the next few years after attending UW Oshkosh, I remained excited to create and develop, while achieving financial stability for myself. Throuhghout my employment with Advanced Disposal, I spent my nights and weekends continuinng to explore software engineering as not only an outlet for my creativity but also a potential career path. I began working with AngularJS and JQuery, developing my skills as an engineer as I worked through some simple projects such as, developing a web-based note-taking application that allowed the user to read, write, and download files in the browser.

As a student, I spent my time at the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh engaged with the creative and technical outlets of my childhood. During this time, I expanded my knowledge as a developer by beginning to work with and understand Java. I began to make modifications to a Java-based open source application. Unfortunately, my time at the university was short-lived due to financial reasons and I had to set out on my own to begin my career.
