Globalconnect A/S acquired Nianet A/S mid-june 2018. My role here are product and sales engineering based on Versa's SD-WAN platform. This includes features like WAN communications, IPSec Tunneling, Firewalling, Next-Gen firewalling as well as QoS, policy and queueing features. I have focus on complex multi tenant systems to span both Nianet and GC products. This is done in close co-operation with Network Architecture and Engineering in order to ensure underlying infrastructure and platformes are aligned and able to support the future "One GlobalConnect" product mix.

The first task in Nianet was to make a nice handover of Zen Systems customers and activities into to Nianet system complex. Later on building, maintaining and expanding Nianet product product portfolio. Focused systems such as Firewalls, next-gen firewalls, Anti-DDoS solutions as well as server and SAN infrastructure.My in-dept knowledge of IP and network transport was a key element to make specific, supportable and usable products.I've also done a lot of presales work and meetings on complex security solutions for major Danish institutions and companies.

Building an ISP from scratch! And basically with no money! Using know-how, contacts in the DK ISP wholesale comminuty along with rock-steady business partners (Sven Møller and Martin Hein). We used cutting edge open source software, build an ISP and started a long journey on doing cost-efficient, high quality and competitive subscription based ISP services. OpenBSD from 2.9 was the technical base of the company, Doing a lot of hacking OpenBSD in order to make head-less installations on rack mounted x86 based PC systems. A lot of experience were gained during these years. Both technical, personal, business and emotional lessons were learned… Some during extreme happy moments and some in deep crisis!It all turned out very well as we sold the company to Nianet A/S

Building an IP node from scratch! I was hired from day-1 when ISP COLT entered the Danish marked with focus on Metro Ethernet. COLT had a major expansion on a European scale in the years I work there. That ment that I had to evolve along. Starting out as a ‘local DK’ IP Engineer with local design, operations and pre-sales responsibilities and ending up in a pan-European team with responsibilities of edge access to the whole of the COLT European network. Ex. doing integration on wholesale xDSL with BRAS with DTAG, BT and other ex-monopolies making a uniform European ‘COLT’ xDSL product.I also was in charge of the Danish IP node, which was build on Cisco 75xx and 12xxx routers as well as Cisco 6500 switches. This was build on ethernet as well as TDM based carriers and xWDM systems.

A continuation of my work at Euroconnect, as Euroconnect was acquired by SONG Networks. Also promoted for the prime DK IP Engineer and I joined the ‘Nordic IP Engineering Group’ which major responsibilities were making an overall design for an MPLS backbone for all the Nordic countries in which SONG Networks operated.The Platform was (ofcourse) Cisco (12000-serie routes and 6500 switches).
