I started my journey with SouthernCarlson 24 years ago as a counter helper and tool repairman. I have learned many lifelong talents and survived a lot of industry bumps along the way. It didn't take me long to prove myself as a dedicated worker and good tool technician that I was appointed the service manager over a service team. We started from nothing and turned it into a ground up profit center selling parts and repairs. When working for a small company at that time you were expected to learn everything about the business, from sourcing new products to collecting payments from customers. In 1999, we were acquired by Southern Fastening Systems, and this is when my career started to take shape in purchasing and inventory control coordinator. We were no longer a small company with over 50 stores and 4 distribution centers in GA, NC, AL, and TX. I learned all about hub and spoke distribution, inventory turns, warehousing, working capital, forecasting, and planning.We were acquired by a private equity group in which SouthernCarlson was formed 2017 and I became the Director of Inventory.
