Michael Bergin LabI am responsible for designing the PCB of different real-time air-quality sensors / low-cost pump solutions.Furthermore, I support and resolve all hardware related issues in Dr.Bergin's lab.We are focused on designing low-power, real time and cost-effective air quality sensing solutions. Specifically, by using Arduino, Teensy and Particle Photon micro controller to interface with custom design PM/CO2/NO/VOC sensor, we are able to collect some data using micro-SD card and analyze them further using custom design R API.

Lemur Center Primates and Fossil DepartmentMy primary role was to document and sort the data log for all the specimen in Lemur Center. On top of that, I learned how to use the CT-scanner to characterize and image a fossil sample using Duke's SMIF (Shared material infrastructure facility). Post image processing was required to finish the complete analysis of fossils sample using Avizo.

I am learning how to solve low-complex failure analysis jobs in Texas instruments using various equipments. such as optical microscope, X-ray inspection machine, scanning acoustic microscope, curve tracer and scanning electron microscope. In particular, I was able to see how a FA engineer approach a problem and find out the root cause of a device failure. Besides, I am working on a individual project that is beneficial to the FA lab in the future. The goal of the project is to find out a recipe for cross-sectioning common BGA packages and silicon using the NSC 20W laser.

This was mainly a front-end software engineering internship with Pfizer during my sophomore year summer. I helped support the research scientists at Rinat, Pfizer South San Francisco Pfizer R&D site to update their internal systems using JS/HTML/CSS , Microsoft Sharepoint and Excel VBA. I worked on three different projects dealing with various needs within the site. The first project was to use JS/HTML/CSS and JSP to enhance one of their internal data-logging system by updating the libraries and implement a different user interface. My second project was to create an automated vacation tracking system that monitors the employees' holiday that reduces a lot of manual labor and saves time for the administrative group. The last project that I worked on is to update Rinat's internal website using microsoft sharepoint.
