Thomas joined Alibaba Group in 2018 as a member of tax management team and was also appointed as Alibaba’s Chief Tax Expert on Digitalization. He is used to adivsing Chinese finance and tax authorities on hot tax topics (e.g., Stamp Duty legislation and Two-Pillar international tax reform). Consolidating tax expertise with insight into the industry and dedicated to building the best tax team in the China internet industry, Thomas and his peers attracted and developed a group of talented tax professionals and created an effective tax management system for the group. He led the team to support dazens of business line such as T-mall Suppermarket, Kaola, Taocaicai, Amap, Youku, UC and Feizhu. He also dedicated years of studies in taxation on digitalized economy and digitalization of tax administration.Prior to joining Alibaba, Thomas was a tax partner and worked 13 years in the international accounting firm KPMG in Beijing and London.
