Freelance editor and motion graphic artist specializing in both long-form cinematic storytelling andimpactful corporate communication spanning broadcast, social media, and experiential content.Highlights in independent film and broadcast include: Lost Child (2012) a CINE Golden Eagle award winner which he co-wrote, The Last Safari (2013) an official selection and award winner at BIFF, Discovery Network’s Commander In Chief: Inside The Oval Office (2014) and editor / sound designer on Doors Ajar at The Chelsea Hotel (2014), a feature documenting the lives of the storied hotel’s eccentric holdouts.Transitioning to advertising, Thomas collaborated with Tribal Worldwide (DDB) on branded content for the award-winning Reebok weRclassic campaign, highlighting new talent in art, music, and fashion. Incorporating skills in animation, Thomas went on to work with Dentsu Creative (360i), Vice Media, DevlinHair, Car of Tomorrow, and Slam! Media Group on a range of projects for HBO, Audi, NFL Network, TED, DAZN, Absolut, Canon USA, MetLife, National Geographic, to name a few, while also creating multi-screen videos for NYC’s Museum of the Moving Image and a documentary news feature for Bloomberg Businessweek. Most recently, Thomas completed work on Hybrid, a documentary feature that received a Sundance Institute Interdisciplinary grant, as well as many internal and external facing projects in the tech and pharmaceutical space.Committed to emerging forms of the moving image, Thomas received an MFA from the Art Institute of Chicago and has exhibited his own screen-based and audio/visual performance works at venues internationally, including the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum NYC, PS1/MOMA, and Microscope Gallery, among others.
