Design engineer for commercial and military control grip assemblies for use in aircraft and ground vehicles. Product engineer for Mason’s transducer products, worked daily with a team of seven assemblers, one planner, two test technicians, and three final inspectors. Transducer line responsibilities included: new product development, design improvements, failure analysis, manufacturing processes, product assembly instructions, develop product line build specifications, train personnel, and report updates to chain of command.Design responsibilities included but were not limited to: full scale design cycles, compliance matrices, solid modeling, BOM maintenance, drawing packages, manufacturing, FEA analysis, simulation, hands-on assembly, continuous improvement, development testing, and product qualification testing to customer and military specifications.

• Tooling design engineer for low and high volume component level production. Products mostly consisted of backshells utilizing the materials of: Ultem® (PEI), Amodel® (PPA), Ryton® (PPS), Torlon® (PAI), PEEK, Siltem, and LCP. Cable strain reliefs were created with both thermoplastic and thermoset materials. Component designs were no more than 5”W x 5”L x 3”D, required single axis separation, and were often hermaphroditic. -Aluminum die-casting (bases, sub-inserts, ejector plates, and cores)-Injection molding (compression, transfer, and injection)-Assembly, stamping, and bending fixtures.• Developed five hydraulic connector designs from concept to final product; tested to SAE-AS4251, SAE-AS1709, MIL-H-5440, and MIL-H-810G. Designed and constructed an onsite fluid testing lab and published testing and technical reports for latching and non-latching quick disconnects.• Designed components and systems for Glenair’s integrated systems division. (Created in 2014) Project highlights for integrated systems team:-Facebook’s Project Aquila, a transmit and receive optical gimbal module.-SEWIP Block 3, a ship-based electronic warfare chassis. -RACR, a F-16 radar upgrade.-NGJ, a electronic warfare jammer.• Developed soldier system cabling integrations for Air Force Research Labs.• Provided general product support in the categories of sales drawings, manufacturing, troubleshooting, and project specific component design for the product lines of Superfly Series 88, D38999, Micro-D, and Mighty Mouse.
