Worked as group manager in the Land Recycling Section of the Environmental Cleanup & Brownfields Program. Managed a group of Licensed Professional Geologists responsible for soil and groundwater cleanups at Act 2 sites, Oil & Gas sites, petroleum retail and distribution facilities, and other regulated and non-regulated facilities that have environmental cleanup issues. Provide geologic oversight to all non-licensed geologic specialists and trainees, act as lead worker for the Storage Tank Section geologists (LPGs and non-LPGs). As manager of the Land Recycling Section, it is important to insure that environmental protection and human health & safety goals and objectives are met, while providing service to help meet the clients' objectives of cleaning up contaminated sites in a timely fashion and within the framework of regulations and policies. Land Recycling cases are often a delicate balance of environmental cleanup and economic development, which requires excellent technical abilities, an understanding of regulatory and non-regulatory policies and procedures, along with possessing people skills and the ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the regulatory process. My experiences, both technical and other, have given me the ability to understand the "ins" and "outs" of accomplishing all of these objectives without comprimising DEP's core objectives throughout the process of cleaning up sites.
