Key Duties/Responsibilities Works closely with manufacturing, marketing, and purchasing to create timely, cost-effective import/export supply chains. Responsible for handling the technical details of international transportation--multiple modes, complex documentation, and varying customs regulations, developing distribution strategies, and building relationships with logistics intermediaries. Serves as a troubleshooter, dealing with problems inherent in moving freight long distances Develops and maintains transportation and distribution procedures to maximize delivery efficiency. Negotiates and selects appropriate delivery methods to minimize delivery costs and maximize customer satisfaction. Manages the performance of international carriers and logistics intermediaries Ensures compliance with international and U.S. laws related to import/export activity Evaluates trade-offs between transportation costs, inventory costs, and service levels Investigates potential risk and other matters of significance, and provides and implements solutions. Manage on-going partner relationships Root cause analysis and problem resolution for all logistics operations Ensure that all deliveries arrive on schedule, and keep the costs of operating delivery vehicles as low as possible.

Responsible for the start up and development of the business from the ground up. Consultant for all transportation sales to include LTL, Truckload, Ocean Freight, Warehousing, International Freight• Developed and maintained strong relationships with customers and carriers to meet the customers goals and requirements • Responsible for qualifying carriers, growing revenue, load tracking and rate agreements and approving spot requests• Nominated and communicated daily with vessel agents to ensure proper timing of vessels at loading port and discharge. • Regularly updated receivers on vessel positions and estimated time of cargo arrival at destination port.• Offered supply chain options to include warehousing, pick and pack, cross dock, warehouse management systems. • Handled technical specifications of international transportation like complex documentation, multiple modes, and varying custom regulations.
