About Thomas Marshall

I have a passion for spatial design, challenging conceptual design and working closely with colleagues and students to build unique environments. I have tutored on the IAD course at The University of Lincoln & Nottingham Trent University for 5 years. I have been fortunate to teach creative principles, technical detailing and help inspire a new generation of Interior Architects. Teaching is extremely rewarding and has helped me to develop as a practitioner. In particular, I enjoy problem solving on a daily basis to discover student potential. I am dedicated to support students select their most suitable discipline in the field.I have 13 years of design experience in multidisciplinary companies in the UK and New Zealand. I have had the opportunity to work on a whole variety of projects including rustic seaside holiday renovation, retail experiences for global brands and architectural workspace design initiatives. Through my career, I have led technical development teams, guided junior designers and mentored Year 1 & 2 IAD students. As senior designer & tutor over the years I have become very suited to guiding individuals through their creative learning process. I am the Lead Coach for Newark Triathlon Club, in which I volunteer to motivate, guide and support triathletes. These skills are well aligned to helping students fulfil their potential and provide work/life balance during their degree.
