Head of Development DesignInstinct Laboratory, Nottingham (Feb 2016 – Aug 2017) Managing the development and creative team within a multidisciplinary design consultancy. Meeting clients to discuss briefs, concepts and brand identity. I created new retail environments, architectural builds and renovations in the UK, America and Switzerland. Collaboration with research & Insights team to provide new experiences and oversee installations. Projects included, ING Banking Headquarters, Nestle Store Design, Swisscom interactive stores and Oakley Exhibition spaces.

Working with a small company as both a design consultant to potential clients and as a construction labourer with the building team to physically help build architectural environments. I was expected to Design interior layout schemes as well as source building materials, antique furniture and build unique joinery solutions. I gained many building skills whilst working with the construction team such as joinery, brick laying, patio construction, tiling, window and door installation and steel reinforcement installation. These skills have helped further my understanding of design development from the conceptual stage through to construction.

Working with the design team to create new and exciting furniture, POS units and small exhibition spaces for companies to exhibit their consumer products. Providing technical development drawings for the manufacture of shop in shop displays for companies such as Debenhams, FH Hinds, Lorus and Pulsar Watches and Rotary. I worked closely with our existing clients to upgrade in-store spaces from season to season and submitted designs for new tender in competition with other companies. I would work closely with our factory in China to discuss how to build intricate details to create unique designs.

Brightlight are a lighting wholesale company who I was employed to use my Architectural experience to design lighting schemes for interior spaces, retail environments, sculpture and signage. I worked with other interior designers, architects, product designers and electricians to create interesting and subtle ways to light their schemes. As part of my role I involved in the sales team strategies and would help provide quotes and pitch to potential clients.
