In my role as senior thermal/balance of plant performance engineer for RWE within Operations Support, I monitor and investigate performance related issues across all UK sites including coal, CCGT, oil fired and combined heat and power plants operated by RWE. I Also lead test teams carrying out diagnostic and investigative work in respect of plant performance issues and contractual agreements as well as developing testing techniques and equipment evaluation to address problems as they arise. I have developed to become the specialist lead engineer in carrying out unit Heat Rate testing from instrumentation installation and removal to full unit data analysis also condenser and cooling tower testing, and one of my key achievements has been the development of specific equipment and test procedures for condenser air ingress problems with great success across the portfolio. In addition, I am the lead Health and Safety adviser for my team, being the author and assessor for all current risk assessments and method statements. Permit Acceptor and GP4 authorized.

In conjunction with company occupational health workers I was also instrumental in arranging a comprehensive health screening program for all employees for hearing testing and hand arm vibration issues due to prolonged use of air operated tools.

Experience gained at all levels of aircraft engineering, operation and training on a wide variety of aircraft propulsion systems. Finishing career as Team Manager of Regional NDT Team based at RAF Cottesmore.• Testing of aircraft structures and associated components and equipment for faults using: Visual aids, Dye Penetrants, Magnetic Particle Inspection, Ultrasound, Eddy Currents and Radiography. Including a variety of composites• Local training of operatives in NDT techniques.• Traveling extensively both on a daily basis as well as to overseas locations often working alone. Included in this is a three-year accompanied tour in Germany.• As Team Manager I was responsible for reacting to a variety of service and civilian customers' NDT requirements covering many locations from Rutland to Shropshire as well as a wide variety of overseas locations.• Management and deployment of personnel and resources necessary in achieving the customer’s requirements as well as on the job training, supervision and assessment of personnel.
