I'm the Division Director for the North client group within ENERCON’s Nuclear Services Group. In this capacity, I oversee the division’s execution of design and consulting activities across a portfolio of multi-discipline engineering projects. This includes engineering, project management, meeting and exceeding client needs and expectations, and division financial performance. I'm responsible for ensuring engineering products are delivered with high quality and on budget. Products delivered include design modifications, engineering evaluations, emergent plant issue support, and specialized engineering projects and evaluations.

In this capacity, I oversee the development of engineering deliverables produced by division staff and maintain primary responsibility for client interface and overall satisfaction. This requires timely identification and effective resolution of performance issues within the group. Provide the senior manager review of all proposals and scope change documents developed by the team to ensure clear scope definition and reasonable cost estimates.

Served as the Lead Project Manager in ENERCON's Naperville, IL office for 7 years. As the lead, Mr. McCarthy was responsible for supervising the Naperville office project managers and managing several projects in the Naperville office. Responsibilities as the lead were:• Monitoring of performance and goal achievement of the project managers as it relates to schedule development and performance, project budgets and overall customer satisfaction.• Supervision and oversight for implementation of project management processes and practices for schedule development, earned value reporting, planning, execution and closeout of engineering projects.• Managing a staff of five project managers that support 125 projects per year at a value in excess of $20MM.

Managing multiple projects for multiple cusotmers. Responsibile for the proposal development, project initiation, development of the project plan, client interaction, project personnel selection and training, project scheduling and fiscal management of all assigned projects. I am also responsible for the management of subcontracts, which includes technical, schedule and financial performance of the subcontractor.I have a working knowledge of Primavera scheduling tools and earned value techniques (CPI and SPI) for monitoring project performance.

Proto-Power Corp. became Zachry Nuclear Engineering, Inc. in May 2009Responsible for the strategic leadership and direction of the Project Management Organization thatmanages 150 – 200 projects per year for a value of $25 – $30 million dollars. Responsibilities include:• Development and implementation of the company wide strategy and tactical approach for Project Management Excellence.• Providing vision and leadership to determine project management goals, monitor performance and goal achievement related to schedules, budgets and customer satisfaction.• Supervision and oversight of the Project Management Organization for implementation of project management processes and practices for planning, execution and closeout of engineering and design projects.• Supervision and leadership of the Project Management Organization for resource planning with engineering management for project execution and overall company project workload.• Communicate with and establish working relationships with customer and internal organizations to maximize project efficiency, responsiveness and resource allocation.. • Establishment of project control techniques for project execution including detailed estimates, schedules, earned value techniques and project plans.• Establishment of a company-wide master schedule from individual project schedules which established the basis of earned value as a project management forecasting tool. • Establishment of budget techniques (including an earned value management system) for the forecast of project budgets for both internal and client project reviews.• Establishment, management and measurement of key performance metrics and provide ongoing analysis of project related activities.

Responsible for all projects awarded for Millstone Power Station as well as projects at Monticello Nuclear Power Station. Responsible for the project scope, budget, schedule and the quality of each deliverable. Listed below are some of the major projects managed:• Multi-discipline modifications and numerous calculation revisions in support of the MP3 Stretch Power Uprate Project.• Modifications for the installation of variable frequency drives on both the MP2 and MP3 Circulating Water System Pumps. These projects included the development and installation of new duct banks. • Modifications for the installation of three station single phase step-up transformers which included the 345KV disconnect switch, transformer foundations, and isophase bus duct. • Installation of new air compressors, air dryers and air receivers at the Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant. This project included the erection of a new structure to house the new components and the re-powering of the components from new load centers.
