Thomas serves as a Managing Director and Head of the Mortgage & Rates Group for JVB. Mr. McHugh manages the firms TBA & Agency MBS trading. Thomas’s responsibilities also include oversight of the matched book agency MBS repo business, trading and structuring all liabilities; oversight of the trade margining and exposure to counterparties; coordination of trade settlements; cash management; and maintaining the trading and credit relationships with the broker dealer and Securities Lending community. Mr. McHugh is also instrumental in the negotiations of the credit terms within all trading agreements.

Triton Funding Partners (TFP) was founded by Ayse Akcura and Thomas McHugh, as a division of AK Capital. Triton’s objective is to advise clients on balance sheet strategy with particular focus on liquidity as well as the procurement of funding counterparties to mid-size financial institutions, REIT’s and hedge funds throughout the US.

Manage the financing and treasury activities, including: trading and structuring all liabilities; coordination of trade settlements; oversight of the trade margining and exposure to counterparties; cash management; and maintaining the trading and credit relationships with the broker dealer community. Key player in the negotiation of all trading agreements for funds, whose assets ranged from AAA to first loss in the capital structure.

Managed the performance and risk exposure processes of clients for Corporate Cash Managers and provided reports for senior management. Also developed product and service enhancements in collaboration with department management and IT staff. Responsible for accurate and timely delivery of monthly earnings statements, income and expense reports, and reconciliation statements for corporate clients. Established contacts with outside custodian banks, interpreting portfolio reports and statements produced by these banks, as well as performance analysis.
