Attended school for approx 1 year before helping to cool down the plant. Ran the DCS console, SCADA system, learned the "B" and "C" jobs, and set up as supervisor. Loaned to the Engineering and Construction department for ~1.5 years, worked as a phase II coordinator, developing punch lists from Bechtel's turn over, completed punch list with using Ron Williams Construction, than commissioned the equipment, pressured it up, or cooled it down before turning it over to operations, Equipment consisted of 2- 43MM gal tanks, 8 SCV's, 1 AAV, and associated pumps and piping.

Lyondell plant in Lake Charles closed - Attended a 3 month school at Citgo before being placed at oil movement. Learned two entry level jobs while at Citgo. Strapped tanks, opened and closed valves, learned how to blend gasoline from various products with various octane ratings, all derived from oil separation. Joined the volunteer fire department, attended fire school at Texas A&M, fought two major fires at the Lake Charles complex.

Time card approvals, necessary discipline actions administered primary or secondary contact with outside regulatory agencies and law enforcement officials, coordinates issuance of hazardous waste manifest, conduct safety meetings for work force, Preventive Maintenance Coordinator vacation relief. Console operator for Ketazine and Luxate for original start up of the units.

Incident commander in all emergencies, attended numerous fireschools at LSU, Texas A&M, and Lamar. Approved time cards, handled displinary actions, gave daily and monthly saftey meetings. Lead trouble shooter for operations issues, ran a skeleton maintenance crew. Trained as a preventive maintenace coordinator- go between for operations and maintenance for smooth transitions. Lake Charles Lyondell closed in 2005, hired by Citgo.

Wrote daily instructions for operations, lead trouble shooter, controlled a fleet of 50 railcars, and 100 isotainers, profiled all hazardous waste drums and isotainers, ordered all raw materials for the unit, 100% compliant on maintenance PM's, wrote work requests/work orders, planned, ordered and scheduled all maintenance activities. Swabbed tested 30 nukes in the unit, bagged and shipped, profiled all hazardous waste, shipped product samples as ordered, shipped product as ordered, planned mini and bi-yearly turnarounds. Inspect all equipment for corrosion, upgraded most to C276.

Promoted to a manufaturing tech in charge of operations, maintenance, hazardous waste, shipping, and unit turn-arounds; bought out by Arco Chemical.
