As of May 2023, I have successfully completed a master's degree in Human Resources with a focus in Employment Relations (H.R.E.R.) from The Pennsylvania State University. Concurrently, I also received the Schreyer Honors notation on my undergraduate degree in Psychology (B.S.) along a minor in Rehabilitation Services (RHS). Our completed thesis centered around perceptions of hostility from abusive supervision, but with using interpersonal violence as a moderating variable. I am committed to psychology portions of academia but the integration of sociological, trauma, and abnormal based theories within the workplace. The abilities I thus bring is one who is able to appropriately empathize with an individual but ethically care about a businesses motives as well. Professionally, I begun as a Direct Support Professional for individuals within the Autism spectrum through Kaleidoscope Family Services, as well as completing an honor's project with a sex-trafficking advocacy non-profit, Valley Against Sex Trafficking (VAST). Afterwards, I was the recipient of a work study grant, which I then selected a non-profit passionately supporting victims of interpersonal violence, Turning Point of Lehigh Valley. I was so fascinated by the experience that I expanded the opportunity to complete a research and outreach based internship for my degree. My Master's program took a more business centric approach to organizational behavior with an internship within HR as an acting Generalist at Access Services, as well as including positions as a mentor for Worklink PSU, and a graduate assistant to collaborate to create a course LHR 160 (The Virtual Transformational Leadership and Development) course. Additionally, I got to study abroad in Croatia thanks to Penn State LER! The experience was a highlight of my academic career and a fantastic way to wrap up my degree programs. My parents immigrated from Cairo, Egypt to New Jersey, making myself a first generation graduate. I am passionate about different cultures and operating on a global perspective.
