Programme ManagerThriving Together Northumberland Oct 2021 - Dec 2022I worked as Programme Manager for Thriving Together Northumberland from October 2021 to December 2022. This involved building relationships with key partners across the statutory, private and voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sectors in Northumberland and North of Tyne (Newcastle upon Tyne & North Tyneside). I was responsible for overseeing engagement with partner networks, planning events around key issues and themes and ensuring that the voice of the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector was heard at strategic meetings such as the local authority VCS Liaison Group. My aim was to ensure that Thriving Together represented the diversity of Northumberland - raising the voices of local people to influence key system change locally, regionally and nationally. I led the operational team for Thriving Together, which at the time consisted of two Community Connectors and a Support Officer. -

Research AssistantNewcastle University Feb 2018 - Apr 2019Newcastle Upon Tyne, Tyne And Wear, GbPaths Across Waters is a journey across seas and oceans that highlights the shared pasts and the lost connections linking the Caribbean and Africa to the North East. This project follows the sailors, students, doctors, musicians, nurses, and journalists who lived in the North East. Their personal stories overlapped with the story of the British Empire and offer rich and fascinating details about the Black experience in Britain. They remind us that local and global histories should be studied together. -
