Thomas is Corporate Counsel for Cummins - Asia Pacific region.Cummins is a US Fortune 500 company with head offices and operations globally. Cummins is the largest manufacturer of high powered diesel engines and power plants in the world. Cummins has an annual turnover in excess of $US25 billion and in excess of 60,000 employees.Thomas’ responsibilities include undertaking and managing the legal affairs of the company in the Asia Pacific region, managing internal and external stakeholders and reporting to the Executive Managing Director Legal (Asia Pacific). Thomas is a member of Cummins Global Transactions Team. He has a broad commercial and corporate practice that involves: commercial transactions (eg; major construction projects, contracts for goods and services, joint ventures, sale and acquisition, leases), litigation, employment, safety, compliance, property and all aspects of risk management. Thomas manages internal and external legal resources throughout the Asia Pacific, and provides internal training to business units in relation to relevant legal issues.Thomas also sits on the Board of Cummins subsidiary (Cummins South Pacific Pty Ltd) in the capacity of Company Secretary.

VLA is a significant statutory entity responsible for the management and implementation of the VLA fund for persons eligible for legal representation, support and advice services.As the Corporate Solicitor (In-House Counsel) for VLA, Thomas reported to the Board and Executive. His responsibilities included conduct and management of all of VLA’s corporate legal affairs including litigation, commercial transactional, property, compliance, operational risk management, policy development, and management of VLA’s Legal and Policy Unit.
