Led the technical and operations design of a 23 skid modular demonstration plant for an innovative and competitive chemical process in the chlor-alkali industry.Collaborated with a modular-skid EPC firm as the technical lead from detailed engineering design through construction and factory acceptance testing.Spearheaded the process design package by owning key deliverables such as mass balances, P&IDs, equipment and instrument lists, control philosophy, and operating and sampling guidelines.Led the operations design of the plant alongside our chemical operating partner which included creating 70 pages of startup and shutdown procedures and developing a commissioning plan. Considerations included operator safety, operability optimization, and general new technology challenges that may arise.Acted as the technical lead for a 6-week, 22 node PHA alongside our chemical operating partner and licensing partner by evaluating safeguards and confirming action item close-outs.Interfaced with vendors for a variety of equipment and instruments including pumps, compressors, control valves, flow meters, color analyzers, oxygen sensors, LEL sensors, and pH probes. Collaborated with our licensing partner by refining our initial commercial plant design, developing simulation models and presenting our process at relevant technology seminars.
