Oversee operations and management in flood control, natural resource management, environmental stewardship, public outreach, environmental education and recreation management. Second line supervisor to a diverse and skilled staff of professionals.

Supervise operations and maintenance for complex flood control system consisting of three lake projects, a dry dam and a run of the river dam along with eight levee systems. Lead a staff of 13 in keeping aging dams operating and protecting steak holders and downstream constituents.

Position is a Federal Citation Officer under the Northern Federal Court of West Virginia. I serve as a Park Ranger where my duties include, but are not limited to: water safety, resource management, physical security, financial management, facility management, damtending and hydrologic control at a flood risk reduction facility. Lead researcher on solar applications to decrease carbon footprint while enhancing park safety and security. Also serve as lead Environmental Stewardship Ranger in work to appropriately manage rural areas to enhance the environment. I also serve as the Huntington District Self Defense, Pepper Spray, and Defensive Tactics Instructor and Advisor. Other duties include campground management, wildlife management, forest management, visitor safety, and management of Visitation and Facilty Sign Programs. Work with local and state governments in many aspecs. Serve as manager in absense of Supervisor. Formulate, compile, and admister package for Law Enforcement contracts. Serve on Glenville State College Academic Curriculum committee. Continue to serve as Secretary of Glenville State College Environmental Science Advisory committee. . Planned, coordinated and presented the Lakes and Rivers Division pilot SPEAR self defense program to a PROSPECT Vistitor Assistance class in MVK in May of 2015. Have organized the 2015 Huntington District Defensive Tactics Instructor workshop to be held in late October.

Serve as supervisor to nine employees at Sutton Lake in WV. This is a temporary promotion used as a Developmental Assignment. Responsibilities include budget calculation, budget forcasting, work to author contract specifications, narrations, and estimates. Submittal of contract packages for approval of funding. Budget forcasting for future 3 Fiscal Years to program money for large maintenance packages. Supervisory responsibilies are to delegate day to day assignments as well as serving to fulfill Corps mission within budget constraints.

Draft MOU (memorandum of understanding) between the Corps and RESA IV to advance intern program. Serve as Instructor at NRCS Field Day teaching Boating and Water Safety in a hands on, outdoor classroom setting to hundreds of Braxton County Middle School students.Planned, coordinated and presented the Lakes and Rivers Division pilot SPEAR self defense program to the National Advisory Board in December of 2014.

Aided surveyors with courthouse deed research for use on boundary surveys. Completed a required 40-hour HAZWOPER certification training. Assisted with creation and placement of permanent reference points on the Licking River Stone Slope Protection project. Worked with COE Construction Supervisor, contracted Construction Technicians, and lead Engineers to revise and update project plans after a high water event. Assisted with monitoring railroad crossing twice each week to ensure equipment has not caused damage to the rails with use of a survey transit and prism pole. Provided needed Material Safety Data Sheets to proper individuals. Gathered river soundings for use in monitoring river channel and calculation of stone amounts needed. Surveyed excavation piles for calculating and tallying cubic yard amounts removed. Assisted in data transfer and interpretation.

Responsible for gathering of information and maintenance of project traffic counters for entry into VERS. Supplied volunteers with cleaning supplies, fuel for mowers and trimmers, and safety signs to post when activities were being performed which resulted in 15,384 hours and $288,757.68 in volunteer services for the 2007 recreation year. Updated and organized project Material Data Safety Sheets, annual Hazardous Materials Inventory, and associated reports. Aided other staff in the completion of inspections for cleaning, interpretive, and law enforcement services to assure government Quality Assurance. Assisted senior ranger staff in producing random sampling inspection schedules. Inspected first aid kits and kept inventory of supplies. Created an Excel template for use in updating project Hazardous Materials inventory.

Aided senior ranger staff with coordination of volunteers and contracted employees. Assisted with set up and implementation of multiple interpretive programs during the recreation year. Used float pumps and other handheld tools to remove sediment from campsites, roadways, and parking areas in post flood cleanup. Independently completed playground safety inspections and corrections of deficiencies. Aided in monthly vehicle mileage reports. Built and maintained hiking trails and project bulletin boards. Cleared and maintained recreational peninsula area at Baker’s Run Campground. Responsible for mowing and clearing areas not included in mowing contract boundaries.
