I provided best practices in IT project management consultation, oversight, and control to improve the outcomes of major IT projects. When I started in 2015, the annual report noted a success rate of projects at 37%. Agencies saw our program as the "project police" and there was little cooperation with agency project personnel. I led the purposeful effort to reach out to agencies, created a working group to address concerns and built consensus for improved procedures and practices that gained buy-in from all stakeholders. When I left in 2022, through much collaboration to improve project practices, we were seen as trusted "project partners" and the project success rate had jumped to 58%. We registered hundreds of voters over a 6 year period, educated them on key issues, and organized rides to the polls.
