My work history starts in 1971 with 25 years of sales and management in Snack Food Sales, first with Superior Potato Chips which was bought by Cains Potato Chips. Then Borden Foods purchased Cains and we had a variety of Brands including Jays, Cains and Borden products to sell and stock. During this time I was responsible for sales and development of territory throughout the Mid Central area of Michigan. The territory I was able to build spawned off 5 new routes and I continued to grow total sales revenues by double digits each year. Around 1991 I left Borden and was hired on as Sales Manager at Metro Eagle Snacks in Detroit, MI. I worked there until 1993 when I was offered a VP position with Golden Eagle Snacks in Memphis TN. My responsibilities were the operation of two main warehouses in Memphis and Little Rock Arkansas, approximately 8 satellite warehouses across Mississippi, Tennessee and Arkansas, Supervision of 5 managers, approximately 35 employees and a fleet of delivery trucks. I also made sales calls to upper level buyers at chains like Kroger, Albertsons, Seesels, Piggly Wiggly, A & P, Harvest Foods, Rite Aid, and a variety of Convenience Stores across the three states. During this time I was able to grow sales by 15-20 % annually and keet expenses under budget. When Eagle Snacks decided to get out of the Snack Industry my position was picked up by Guys Foods in Missouri and I then switched all our outlets to Guys Snacks which was quite a challenge. After a couple of years Guys ran out of working capital and had to scale back their operation and at that time I left to go to work for Trader Publishing as Sales Manager in San Antonio TX where I have been for 14 years.There have been annual changes in the environment at Trader Publishing from a well known branded print publication like Auto Trader, Cycle Trader, RV Trader, etc.to our current day model which now operates as Dominion Web Solutions and encompasses a variety of online products.
