Ph.D h.c Thomas Nylund has an impressive experience of leadership and management from working in leading positions for over 30 years in different organizations.He worked for over 10 years from 2008-2019 as CEO for Gästrike återvinnare (GÅ) - responsible for the municipal Waste Management in the region of Gästrikland. GÅ is an association formed by five municipalities: Gävle, Sandviken, Ockelbo, Hofors and Älvkarleby.Mt Nylund is also CEO of two daugther companies of GÅ: a Holding Company (GÅ Tillsammans AB) and a Development Company (GÅ Utveckling AB) ).GÅ owns also 51 % of the Biogas Company Gästrike Ekogas AB.GÅ has been awarded with the Swedish Recycling Award in 2015 and 2011 and was nominated in 2013. GÅ was also nominated for the European Waste Reduction Award in 2011 and 2012.Dr Nylund has a Master of Science in Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. He ahs also studied at the Stockholm School of Economics. In April 2018 Mr Nylund was appointed as Honoray Doctor of Technology in environmental engineering at the University of Gävle.Mr Nylund has 30 years of experience from leading positions in the public sector. He has worked at the National Land Survey as Head of the Cadastral officies for six counties in Sweden; 2001-2008. He has also been Project manager and Head of Planning on regional level at the Swedish Railway Administration during 1992-2001. In 1991-1992 he was Head of Administration at the University of Gävle. During 1987-1991 he worked at the Central Board of Real Estate Data as a Project Manager and Head of Development.Since 1989 Mr Nylund also has had his own Consultancy firm "Effen Konsult" beside his regular employments.
