Invetech is an engineering consulting firm providing clients in the consumer, medical and cell therapy fields with full life cycle (conceptualization to manufacturing) product development. Have been working across a number of concept maturation programs with functions including proposals/estimating, architecture development, requirements capture, test bedding, software development and trade studies in small multi-disciplinary teams. In parallel, a core software developer on the company's platform initiative utilizing networks of Cortex M3 ARM32 microcontrollers to attempt hardware, firmware and PC software infrastructure to promote reuse across a wide array of client needs.

Software Engineer for several research and development (R&D) programs, focusing on system design, integration and development of next generation Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). As a lead developer for the safety critical embedded autopilot software, focal areas included: trade studies of hardware (computers, sensors, actuators) to determine suitability to our applications and then integration of those parts using a variety of communications protocols/buses; algorithms for automatic management of vehicle subsystems including concerns for redundancy and resource management; software/ hardware troubleshooting. Also was involved in the maintenance of a proprietary middleware architecture that allowed for cross platform(Windows/x86 and Integrity RTOS/Power Pc) development. As a software lead, also managed the cost accounting, schedule and day to day tasking of a team of eight developers, producing metrics for program management to provide them with visibility into our progress, as well as interfacing to other technical teams and vendors in a 100+ person program to resolve issues.

Technical Lead in the development of a “co-pilot in a box” for a NASA contract, this system assisted general aviation pilots with take-off and landing procedures using sensors to monitor the pilot’s actions and conformance to flight procedures. Previous program was on a contract building a decision-aiding system for operators of a UAV ground control station. Both programs utilized C++. Additionally, served as 2nd-tier Systems Administrator at Applied Systems Intelligence, supporting Windows Desktop support, Linux Servers, and SGI IRIX development stations, with duties including account management, version control system administration (CVS), operating system configuration and backup/recovery system.

Managed the networking, computing, and space needs of the Aware Home (Broadband Institute Residential Lab). Co-instructed and advised the undergraduate courses and projects within this research effort. Developed sensing systems for the collection of information for an “aware” home and its occupants using off the shelf parts; also involved in the evolution of the software infrastructure required to distribute this sensed information to the applications and services running in the home.
