About Thomas P. Haas

With passion for emergency preparedness and a career in emergency response spanning over 2 decades, Tom is excited to join forces with our ministry leaders in fortifying our readiness and response capabilities. As a captain in the fire service in addition to his faculty roles at Illinois Central College and University of Illinois’s Fire Service Institute, he has a deep understanding of the complexities of emergency management. With a strong background in Incident Command System and Active Shooter Incident Management, Tom is dedicated to sharing his knowledge and experiences to train and empower others in our community and throughout our ministry. Additionally, with a 28 year background in information technology, he is equipped with valuable skills in data analysis and communication which are crucial in emergency preparedness. His most recent role with OSF Healthcare has allowed him to collaborate and coordinate emergency support with hospitals throughout the 18 counties represented in IDPH EMS Region 2, while building relationships throughout Saint Francis Medical Center as the RHCC, where he continues to serve as a front-line mission partner in the Emergency Department on a PRN basis. He is currently serving on the board for Tazewell County Emergency Telephone System and Tazewell County Consolidated Dispatch Center. Tom looks forward to embracing the challenges ahead and working closely with leaders, strategizing a clear pathway through which to build confident responses for our program and our front-line mission partners.
