Working as a member of the Bad Moon Team, I created the Bad Moon Weekly Role Play club. From marketing it, to managing volunteers, to engaging with our excellent community of players, I grew the club to ~50 players attending every week (pre-pandemic) and it became our consistently busiest weeknight.I also work with customers throughout the week, introducing them to new board games and teaching them how to play, assist with accountancy tasks, and help engage with our customers through social media.

I work with the Regression QA team to run our suite of regression test cases whenever a new version of the Shazam app is being released on iOS or Android. The team also runs ad hoc testing on smaller, feature-based releases, and I provide coaching and support to the less experienced members of the team. I also review test cases to ensure they are up to date and meet the expected standards.

Following a period of additional training, including attaining the ISEB qualification, I was a User Acceptance Tester with British Airways. This role required reviewing the User Stories created by our Business Analyst and questioning any assumptions/inconsistencies/obscurities so that I could write accurate test scripts before any software has been built. I also ran manual test scripts and reported any errors or bugs that arose.

I completed my training with FDM to be one of their IT Consultants. The modules I completed were SQL (Distinction), HTML/CSS (Merit), Excel/VBA (Merit), Finance Industry Awareness (Merit), Project Support Office (Distinction), and the PRINCE2 foundation exam.My first placement was with Nationwide Building Society as a Project Support Officer. My role as part of the Financial Crime and Risk Development Centre was to facilitate the running of several projects. This included providing up to date information to the Project Managers to better inform their decisions, and overhauling how the department managed its resources in order to ensure we were abiding by contract regulations.

I worked at multiple leisure centres and spas as a Lifeguard. My duties were split between watching the pool, where I would be on alert for potential problems and responsive to new hazards; and cleaning. I was often approached by swimmers asking for information, and so I had to research each new location I worked at, even if I was only there for a single shift. As a customer-facing role, it was imperative that I maintained a pleasant yet formal appearance throughout my 11+ hours long shifts.

I started at the Lord Butler Leisure Centre in the role of Duty Manager, in which I was in charge of the day to day running of the centre and the leader of the operations team. The responsibilities I held included organising lifeguard and receptionist rotas, opening and closing the Centre, dealing with customer inquiries and complaints, and dealing with emergencies such as first aid situations and evacuating the Centre when necessary. In November of 2012 I was promoted to the Health and Safety Coordinator alongside my responsibilities as Duty Manager, which gave me total responsibility for all of the site’s Health and Safety concerns. This included writing and reviewing Risk Assessments, keeping our first aid kits and supplies in order, and ensuring our Normal Operating Procedures and General Emergency Plans were up to date and being adhered to. I also performed Health and Safety Inductions for each new employee.

University Of Wolverhampton

As an elected member of the University of Wolverhampton Students' Union Council, I was able to volunteer in multiple projects. Notable, I became the first non-officer to become part of the Officers' Surgeries Team, and the work I did with them gained me a commendation from the Union Council. I was also nominated twice for Volunteer of the Year.

I worked with a group of 6 children, and was in charge of keeping them safe and entertained while they took part in the activities provided. I also had to plan their evenings, finding things to do that would calm them down before bed. I was dealing with homesickness and misbehaviour repeatedly.I also worked as Director of Weaponry, where my responsibilities were the archery and riflry ranges and the corresponding equipment. I had no accidents during my time there.

I was teamed up with 1-2 other group leaders, and given responsibility of 9-11 children, largely from broken homes and generally troubled backgrounds. We had to plan their entire days with both entertaining and educational activities, while dealing with continue misbehaviour and acts of violence among the children. I also worked as a "Dragonfly", which meant that I had to help two groups at once, so I had to build the same rappor with twice as many children and half as much time with each of them.
