During my tenure, NYSAF supported over 300 projects and 2500 artists, including Tony Award winners HAMILTON, HADESTOWN, and THE HUMANS, Pulitzer Prize finalists THE WOLVES (Sarah DeLappe) and Taylor Mac’s epic A 24-DECADE HISTORY OF POPULAR MUSIC, and work from Ayad Akhtar, César Alvarez, Rachel Chavkin, Michael Friedman, Beth Henley, Michael R. Jackson, Lynn Nottage, John Patrick Shanley, and countless others. My time included: -a strategic deepening of programming and organizational capacity-a new collaboration with Marist College to present NYSAF's flagship Summer Season-new programs such as the Filmmakers’ Workshop, Stories That Move, NYSAF NOW, and the NYC Winter Season-an expansion of the permanent year-round staff, plus board and funder development-expanded commitments to pay equity, access, agency, and belonging, to address historical inequitiesNYSAF’s institutional budget and annual contributed revenue doubled during this time, and we increased net assets by 400%, including developing a robust working capital fund.
