I was hired to stabilise and improve an existing containerised Django app that utilised Postgresql and RabbitMQ for async task processing. After some time I learned Typescript and Node.js in order to help with existing microservices and to build new microservice APIs for various purposes that used RabbitMQ and MongoDB.

I was hired as a junior designer but my role was expanded to encompass the entire process from design to implementation. I’ve been instrumental in the production of brand guidelines for multiple IP’s as well as the company as a whole. We are currently in the process of rebranding in which I’ve overseen the web assets and design, working with the art department, department heads and owners.Skills and tools used:• Adobe XD – I used the full Adobe suite to create wireframes and functional designs to both pass to other developers and to produce myself.• PHP/Laravel – In this role I have used Laravel extensively including creating and utilising custom extensions and packages as well as using NPM.• JS – In this role I had a much more hands-on experience with modern JS and briefly used Vue.js to create simple applications. I have used JS in a more OOP fashion than previously and helped to set code standards for the company.• Agile – I have also had first-hand experience working to with a newly agile team. It was implemented recently and hasn’t been fully utilised so I’ve seen how it can be used, where I can be altered and the pitfalls that arise for new teams switching to it from a legacy Waterfall style of development.

Established efficient workflows for developing custom WordPress websites, streamlining management processes with minimal staff. Successfully migrated a legacy Django website to AWS, upgrading from Python 2 to Python 3 without any downtime. Developed and implemented custom data migration tools to ensure seamless transfer of clients' old data onto new systems.
