I'm a general internist with additional training in clinical pharmacology (Karolinska Institute and UBC Vancouver). I'm retired from hospital practice but still see outpatients for chronic pain, high blood pressure, general complex or unusual medical problems. My main interest is teaching more rational and conservative prescribing and deprescribing. I have been involved with the Therapeutics Initiative since its beginning and proud of our assessments of new drugs by careful scrutiny of evidence. We have saved BC taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars (or more) by carefully reading clinical trial evidence and thinking carefully about its implications for good medical practice.
