Emerson Los Angeles' internship program helps to place students in some of the nation’s most renowned companies, studios, and organizations. Qualified Emerson juniors and seniors may enroll for one semester of study at Emerson Los Angeles, a residential program with a full semester of internship opportunities and coursework, as well as personal and professional development workshops and panel discussions. Up to 200 students can enroll in the fall and spring semesters. Students who participate in the ELA program gain valuable internship experience, build connections with other students and key players in their chosen fields, and create a footprint in the local community by participating in community service programs.• Cultivated and managed relationships with over 350 internship providers in Los Angeles, to assist with internship placement of over 300 students per year in the Emerson LA program since 2019.• Interviewed incoming students and advised potential internship providers based on skills and interests; gave resume, cover letter, and interview preparation advice; tracked and managed administrative requirements for academic credit.• Assisted in planning and execution of over 40 professional development events, including industry-related panel discussions and speakers, for students and local alumni; oversaw booking of guest speakers and panelists, venues & staging, gifts, budget, and catering.• Oversees processing of Curricular Practical Training (CPT) authorizations and other F-1 visa • Supported & promoted campus and local DEI initiatives, First Generation Student programs, and F-1 student visa program in career opportunities.• Tracks and updates student records, grading, and evaluations.
