After leaving High school at GCSE level, I attended Coleg Gwent (Crosskeys campus) to study fine art. After passing my courses at city & guilds & national diploma level, I changed career direction and moved into banking where I still hold a full time position despite also owning and running a cosmetics company. I joined Lloyds TSB as it was known back then (Now Lloyds banking group) in early 2003. I have held a number of positions within the group. My roles have been diverse in the sense that I have held customer facing & central roles as well as line/people managing. I spent some time in branch as an account manager as well as completing a CICS qualification in customer service. In 2018 I took a leap and another career change in starting a business in the cosmetics field. At this stage we are 18 months into trading and show steady growth month on month. Having 2 roles has strengthened my capabilities in terms of time management. I have also been able to translate much of my acquired knowledge from the banking sector, specifically in risk areas to the running of my business to ensure compliance. This has not been a direct translation however. The learning journey over the past 18 months in this new area has been a challenging but passionate one. I’m looking forward to the challenges that we face as a company over the next 12 months & what changes lay ahead with Brexit pending both in the banking & Cosmetics world. My current roles see me as Bank Manager & Company Director.
