RN in charge of the health care needs of High School Adolescents from 9th grade through 12th grade. Between 4- 8 hundred students depending on location. Supervise a health assistant in their duties and responsibilities. First line of Emergency Medicine for student and instructors on campus. Duties included:• Maintaining health records and HIPA controlled information using electronic medical records program.• Assessing the student’s wounds, symptoms, or complaints then treating those symptoms in conjunction with the student’s health background and the guardians’ permission. Providing first aid, and stabilizing conditions until the student can see a provider if necessary. • Charting the treatments and results. Contacting the guardians for immediate “pick-up” of their student(s) whenever an infectious/serious medical condition or injury was determined. • Primary health advisor for many of the parents and instructors, providing education on specific medical conditions.• Determining the health status of the injured or sick students and calling the emergency team (911) when required.• Care for the Exceptional Students as required by their medical provider and the school. Monitoring their health status on a daily basis. Provide medical assistance in developing their health plan. Charting and charging Medicaid for services performed. • Assisting the Emergency Response Team with Emergency Response Plans and conducting trial scenarios.• Assisting students with obtaining primary low cost medical assistance for any condition/illness including vision and dental services. • Provide access to medical providers and nurses for our pregnant students. Also monitoring the students progress while in school. Assisting with any special needs during the pregnancy.

• Direct, supervise and evaluate work activities of all nursing personnel in relation to infection prevention, wound care, and electronic nursing notation. • Maintain communication between medical staff and department heads in relation to infection prevention, wound care, antibiotic use, lab use and electronic charting. • Review and analyze facility activities and data to assist in planning and risk management and to improve over quality ratings (stars). • Plan, implement and administer quality improvement programs after perform a root cause analysis.• Perform an analysis of the communities use of antibiotics in relation to infections and laboratory results.• Review each infection within the community to determine how the resident contacted the disease process. If not from admission determine if the problem is community related or healthcare related. • Chaired the monthly Quality Assurance Meeting. As one of the adjunct professors I assist students in their final semester with their research project (Capstone). My duties include reviewing with them their intended subject matter, ensuring that their research co-insides with their intent, and grading their assignments. I perform tasks as a mentor, leader and final authority for their project. My duty is to guide them through the process of writing a professional paper using APA formatting fit for publishing. This is their final senior project before graduating with a BSN. I also perform duties as a clinical instructor and , in the area of mental health nursing.
