Planned, developed and managed The Wing Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Health programs, affecting over 1200 personnel assigned. Performed Industrial Hygiene and Special Surveys to identify potential health risk, and provide recommendations to reduce health effects using a variety of equipment to qualify and quantify chemical and physical exposures. Perform inspections to eliminate health hazards within 35 industrial shops and ensure statutory and regulatory compliance with applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Air Force Occupational Safety and health (AFOSH) directives. Work in conjunction with Public Health, Environmental Management, Base Safety and Civil Engineering Readiness to improve Wing programs and worker safety. Responsible for planning and coordinating Medical Participation in Global Patriot exercises for all aspects of Expeditionary Medical Support (EMEDS) deployment and operations at multiple locations. Instructed field operational training for personnel assigned to EMEDS Unit Type Codes. Provide equipment familiarization and procedures unique to a deployed setting. Utilize Hands on training and field exercises as the primary teaching methods allowing students to employ practical skills in a true deployed setting. Instruct the Preventative Aerospace Medicine (PAM) Team on roles and responsibilities during deployed operations, initial and alternate EMEDS site surveys, medical intelligence/surveillance, epidemiology, public health, in-theater medical screening, early detection of chemical and biological agents to include the potential decontamination of patients, infection control, food and water inspections, and Medical Aspects of NBC Warfare. Provide training on specialized technical equipment to include; HAPSITE, HAZMAT ID, Hand Held Assays, and SAM Alarm to be used in the identification of agents and substances during CBRNE scenarios. Instruct joint contingency operation classes for Wing personnel.
