My role at Forward 3D started as ownership of the TB balances of our second largest entity, among other smaller ones. Outside month end I’d be completing the VAT and other returns and scrutinising the accounts taking necessary actions.I work very closely with the FC in reporting our numbers in the group with any required commentary. We’d also look at any new processes and efficiencies in a way that would support other members of the team and improve the quality of output.In Jan 23 we migrated from Sage to Maconomy which is more appropriate to the increased size of the business and matched us to the system used by our group. At the same time, I trained and handed over my larger entity to the local office to make capacity for me to take on the largest entity within our brand. Key achievements:● Stepping up when our Finance Manager resigned to take on her entity, report responsibilities and take care of the team. I had only been with the company for 5 months and there wasn’t time for a big handover, so I had to make a lot of judgment calls and detective work on prior postings.● I was heavily involved in the migration from one very simple accounting system to a more complex and relevant one. This involved pulling data from old systems and pulling in a format the new system will accept, finding the efficiencies the new systems offer to put into process and troubleshooting the inevitable problems that came about after migration. This allowed me to take on some credit control in which I'm responsible for chasing planners for signed drafts, sending invoices and statements to clients, chasing payment and resolving queries made internally or by clients. Other roles I have are processing and paying out expenses, bank reconciliation, preparation for audits and other adhoc tasks.
